| Description | Is it normal that InstrumentRange is Optional. This is curious and the sense that this is the maximum range of the sensor. Knowing that EURange is Mandatory, I am surprised that InstrumentRange is not. We shall put a note strongly recommending to provide this information if it is available to follow the philosophy of OPC UA. | ||||

The idea that optional properties should be provided goes without saying for all optional properties. In this case the InstrumentRange is optional because many systems will not have that information available (e.g. a wrapper for a COM DA server). |
