Summary | 0001917: 3.4.2 Endpoint: address requires a hostname?
Description | I thought that there was some dialog about this hostname requirement and how difficult it could be to accomplish on an embedded device. Suggest rephrasing the current text: "NOTE Each Server may have multiple Endpoints. The address of an Endpoint must include a HostName." ... to: "NOTE Each Server may have multiple Endpoints. The address of an Endpoint must include either a HostName or an IP Address."

This is a good catch. It is not technically feasible for all servers to have a hostname. |
|
Agreed to update 3.4.4 definition for "HostName" to specifically allow IP Address. |
|
Extended definition of HostName (3.4.4) with "The identifier can be an IP address." Added in document "OPC UA Part 4 - Services RC 1.02.15 Specification.doc" |
