Description

Currently there are no specifications from the OPC foundation that define the mapping between OPC DA Value Quality Timestamp information to OPC UA Data Value & DiagnosticInfo.
Due to this, Each vendor define their own mapping for their OPC UA products. But when a customer users OPC UA products from different vendors, he/she may get different and inconsistent information

Suggestion:

Both the OPC DA and OPC UA are specifications from the OPC foundation, it would be really helpful, if the foundation can standardize these mapping information as specifications so that they can implemented by vendors consistently. This could be a companion document.

This will help in better compliance and interoperability among vendors.

Our current mapping details are in the attached document.

Discussed in telecon. Agreed it would be good to have this in a non-normative appendix in Part 8 (parallel to the A&E mapping in Part 9). Paul will ask Rao if he is willing to write the appendix and/or provide additional text.
