Description

CMPWG Feb-5, 2015:
The Embedded Data Change facet says "republish buffering is not required" although the Subscription Basic CU says Republish should be available.

CMPWG requests separating the Republish into its own CU.

The Embedded DataChange Subscription Facet (which is used in the MicroEmbedded Profile) states “republish buffering is not required”. It does not state that the Republish Service itself is not required.
The Embedded DataChange Subscription Facet includes the CU Subscription Publish Min 02 which specifically states “Support of republish is optional and no notification retransmission queue has to be provided however the republish service must be provided and will return the appropriate operation level results.”

Descriptions have been improved in OPC UA Part 7 - Profiles 1.03 Draft 05.docx as follows:
a. In CU Subscription Publish Min 02 changed the statement “Support of republish is optional and no notification retransmission queue has to be provided however the republish service must be provided and will return the appropriate operation level results” into “Support of a NotificationMessage retransmission queue is not required; if not available the Republish Service returns Bad_MessageNotAvailable.”
b. In Embedded DataChange Subscription Facet the text “republish buffering is not required” has been removed as this is completely defined in the CU Subscription Publish Min 02.
