Summary0003386: Installation problem of CoreComponents 3.0.106 on chinese computer
Description

During installation of CoreComponents 3.0.106 (on a chinese computer), the user is requested to install .NET framework 4.5.1 version
However, the URLs
https://www.microsoft.com/zh-cn/download/details.aspx?id=30653 for Version 4.5
https://www.microsoft.com/zh-cn/download/details.aspx?id=40779 for version 4.5.1
both are not working

For V4.5, it blocks user to install . NET in the middle saying that the computer is not suitable for installing version 4.5
For V4.5.1, the page goes blank and no installation happens for user

note: For Japanese computer there exists a workaround (install Version 4.5.2 .NET framework). Therefore this is a chinese only issue

The links do work but when you click on them but then the install gets blocked for V4.5 and goes blank for V4.5.1
this issue is only present in Chinese OS

Eventually, we found a URL for .Net framework 4.5.1 which could work for Chinese user. https://www.microsoft.com/zh-cn/download/details.aspx?id=40773

Hello,

I just checked the installers and it seems that the .NET dependencies are automatically managed by Visual Studio (Microsoft). We have not specified the directory paths.

You can take a look at the source code here:
https://opcfoundation.org/developer-tools/developer-kits-classic/all-source-code-c-c/

If you can find a way that will enable functionality in China as well as the rest of the world then please let us know and we will gladly apply the change.

Hi,
thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately I cannot access your link as myself and my company are not corporate members of the OPCFoundation but only registered users. (But the company that develops the Toolkit we use is CorporateMember I suppose, so I'll contact them).

Greetings
