| Description | We are exposing an offline descriptor for AutomationComponents, but it might make sense to have the possibility to expose offline descriptors also for Functional Entities, especially in cases when the Functional Entity represents a standalone plugin module, etc. (probably just C2D – need to describe what is in the descriptor – might require no addition to model other than examples). | ||||

The Descriptor file Component of the AutomationComponentType was changed to a folder (Descriptors) that may hold multiple references to Descriptors (AcDescriptorType). This allows for Descriptors of this AutomationComponent to be added as they are modified throughout the engineering workflow, and separate Descriptors to be added for FunctionalEntities and Assets to support various sorts of system architecture and workflows. See Clause 6.2.2. |
