| Summary | 0009222: Add ObjectType for IO-Link Wireless Bridge | ||||
| Description | Define an ObjectType for IO-Link Wireless Bridge. The ObjectInstanceDeclaration should be placed below the IO-Link Wireless Port ObjectType with the modelling rule OptionalPlaceholder. Currently, there is no clear definition from SMI on how to evaluate the Bridge Standalone Mode. There are no new IO-Link Master events that signal in which mode the Bridge/Port is running. The latest proposal from the SMI Working Group was to evaluate this by comparing VendorId and DeviceId, but this is not feasible in a real device in the field since some OPC UA IO-Link Masters already in the field do not know about newer Bridge VendorId/DeviceId. The SMI specification should provide a generic way. Until a solution is provided, OPC UA for IO-Link cannot include this new ObjectType for Bridges. | ||||
