This issue came up in discussion of 10022. |

The Server Address needs to be located in the Device Descriptor. There is no place in the Descriptor to exchange the Server Address. Name Space index 0 is not sufficient. The Server Address needs to be able to be exchanged between tools, even if the Server Address is empty or not set. (From Part 5: The URI of the ServerArray with Index 0 shall be identical to the URI of the NamespaceArray with Index 1, since both represent the local Server.) The HostName and Security Policies are also needed. |

This is related to a larger issue of Configuration Information that needs a separate information model. Separate from the Server Address space. This includes, for example, data that is needed for finding GDS's and things that are normally in an ".ini" file of an application. Security policies is an example. |
