Summary | 0002483: .NET Framework 4.5 support
Description | OPC Core Components 3.0 requires .NET Framework 2.0 which is not shipped with Windows 8. The current workaround is that one must first turn On the .NET Framework 3.5 feature (that include .NET 2.0).
Additional Information | Implementing the workaround can be problematic for novice users who might have to change group policies and firewall settings before they can download the necessary files for the .NET Framework 3.5 through Windows Update.

|
SMG: we cannot get rid of the .NET 3.5 dependency, but explain it a little better in the dialog(s) that pop-up. The Windows8 media contains the .NET framework 3.5 therefore no internet access is needed. |
