Summary0001590: Formal test vs developer test
Description

Adding test cases is useful, but is there a mechanism to ensure that OPC Test cases are run and that a user has not altered the test case? The CTT needs to be able to be run in a Formal Test Mode where the test case that are executed are not the Java script but a compiled or binary version of the scripts that cannot be altered in any manner. The result from such a formal run should include all of the version information associated with the CTT and the actual results, which would include optional conformance units passed and for the conformance units that require it detailed list of supported feature (i.e. data types, Alarm types, etc)

For now, Certification is only possible via the Certification test labs.
Test labs will ONLY use the native versions of test-scripts.
The results file does need to include the information in this request though:

  • version of CTT
  • settings configured
  • data-types tested and those that are missing/untested etc.

Re-acknowledging case to keep it alive.
We're currently working on the separation of user-scripts from ct-scripts. We will need to figure out how to guarantee the accuracy of scripts (unaltered).

Closing this case because it is covered in the 1602 issue (duplicate)
