Description

What is the correct server behavior given the following situation:

  1. Create a subscription, e.g. publishingInterval=5000.
  2. Add a monitoredItem with a samplingInterval of -1.
  3. Modify the subscription, e.g. publishingInterval=100.

What should the samplingInterval be for the item now?
I'm assuming 100; although I have come across an interpretation of 5000.

I would ask that a clarification is posted to the "requestedPublishingInterval" parameter in Table 85 - ModifySubscription Service Parameters.

Added the following clarification to 7.15 MonitoringParameters, parameter samplingInterval:
The sampling interval is not changed if the publishing interval is changed by a subsequent call to the ModifySubscription Service.
