Summary0000121: Modeling rule for states and transitions
Description

I think I found a problem in the Part 10 – Programs. I am referring to version RC 1.00.1 of Part 10 in Groove from January 30, 2007.

(1) Based in Figure 9 (DomainDownloadType Partial State Model) the modelling rule for the states of the program type is SHARED since the type and the instance are pointing to the same instances of the state types.
(2) Based on Table 5 (ProgramType), the modelling rule of the states is NEW.

I think the modelling rule in Table 5 should be changed to SHARED. The same makes sense for the transitions. They should be also SHARED.
If NEW is correct, what is the reason for using NEW? In this case the Figure 9 should be changed.

Most of the WG thinks this issue is real. Need to have Bill Flere confirm and provide the correction.

Wolfgang,

Please comment on this issue in light of the expected changes to modeling rules. I want to know what the desired fix will be to Part 10 before I assign it to Bill.

Since we do not distinguish between New and Shared but map both to "Mandatory" the issue should be solved.
