| Summary | 0001718: CreateSession() has no LocaleIds parameter although the response contains LocalizedTexts | ||||
| Description | The response of the CreateSession-service contains an array of EndpointDescriptions which holds an ApplicationDescription which in turn holds a LocalizedText (applicationName). As Part 4 6.1.6 suggests, a client should compare the EndpointDescriptions returned from CreateSession() with the EndpointDescriptions returned from GetEndpoints() and deny the connection attempt if the descriptions do not match. Since GetEndpoints() accepts LocaleIds, EndpointDescriptions may differ in "applicationName" if GetEndpoints() returns a translation instead of the default text. | ||||

The text should state that only the endpoint URL, TransportProfileURI SecurityProfileURI, SecurityMode, and SecurityLevel are used to check that the endpoint return fromt he getEndPoints returns what the Server already has. |

This problem is already resolved with the change to Mantis issue 1828 (see related mantis issue). The server does not longer return the ApplicationDescription in CreateSession. Changed in document version OPC UA Part 4 - Services 1.02.12 Draft.doc |
