Summary0003015: Inverse references from DataTypeDescriptions to DataTypeEncoding are optional
Description

During the discussion of issue 0002975, Randy and Wolfgang mentioned that a client can browse the data types for a dictionary starting from DataTypeDescription inverse to DataTypeEncoding. This was recommended as "optimized" way to get the necessary information that always works.

We can confirm that this works reasonable fast even with 10.000 DataTypes on a PC based system.

The problem is that the inverse references from DataTypeDescriptions to DataTypeEncoding are optional.

Based on the assumptions by Randy and Wolfgang, they must be mandatory.

Additional Information

5.8.4 DataTypeDictionary, DataTypeDescription, DataTypeEncoding and DataTypeSystem

DataTypeEncoding Objects of the DataTypes reference their DataTypeDescriptions of the DataTypeDictionaries using HasDescription References. However, Servers are not required to provide the inverse References that relate the DataTypeDescriptions back to the DataTypeEncoding Objects.
