Summary0004316: The DataType of DataTypeDescriptionVariableType differs between specification and Opc.Ua.NodeSet2.xml
Description

The specification (1.03 and 1.04) describe that the DataType Attribute of the DataTypeDescriptionVariableType shall be of type ByteString.

The DataTypeDescriptionVariableType and the DataTypeDescriptionVariables of Opc.Ua.NodeSet2.xml use the DataType String.

Either it is an issue of the specification or the Opc.Ua.NodeSet2.xml.

In fact, most OPC UA applications seem to use or expect the String data type, I have seen no other application that uses the ByteString.

Please clarify which is correct.

DataTypeDictionary was removed from Part 5 with Mantis 6016 therefore no changes are needed other than the Errata for 1.03 and 104.

Agreed it is in already released Errata and it no longer appears in 1.05 Part 5.
