Summary0005030: Support TLS for securing OPC-UA
Description

There is no native support for TLS within OPC-UA. The intention of this issue is to generate a formal analysis of the costs and benefits to native TLS support and make a decision on whether or not this work is to be taken on within the OPC Security Working Group. The analysis should be written and recorded, as it will serve as a reference for future inquiries into the support/lack of support for TLS. The main thrust of the analysis should focus on TLS 1.3, although it can potentially include TLS 1.2 as well.

This analysis will focus on TLS for securing OPC-UA client server communications. A separate analysis regarding DTLS and unicast Pub Sub should also be performed, although that can be part of a separate effort.
