This test is fairly simple and the same for both a client and a server. Setup to client to have a connection to a server, usually including a subscription (if it is supported), on the server run a script to disable the network and then re-enable the network and some scheduled frequency. Adjust the timing/ frequency of the disconnects such that the client has to reestablish connections (i.e. they have timed out, but subscription have not). Depending on the host operating system, monitor the CPU usage, memory usage, .... on the client machine - let this test run over night as a minimum but longer is preferred. At the end of the test, the client shall still be operational (i.e. if the network interruption script is stopped everything works normally on the client and the resource on the device should have been steady for the entire time. [client are expected to recover from network interruption and recover communication, and this test ensure that the recover is smooth] |
