Summary0006027: Timestamp handling for target variables needs clarification
Description

It is not clear what happens if a timestamp is received but the target variable does not support write of timestamp.
We clarified this for status code already but are silent on timestamp

Discussion in UA meeting Sept. 15

Group agrees that timestamp is skipped if write is not supported.

Open issues:

  • Diagnostic on message field level
  • Option to configure to always skip timestamp
  • Option to configure error handling options if write fails partially

6.2.10 Information flow and status handling
Added following clarification:
If a target Variables in the SubscribedDataSet does not allow writing of timestamp, any received timestamp will be set to null.
