Summary0007622: Editorial Issues
Description

Section 3.1 Unclear why many specs (including IEEE) are in general referenced for terms but instead of referencing IEEE 802.1Q
Why repeating "Clock Target, Clock Source, etc.

Section 6.2.1 states For interoperable remote management, IA-stations support the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) as a remote management protocol (see 6.2.2)." Is this a requirement? Then there has to be a "shall" in the sentence.
The "shall sentence" is actually in 6.2.2. Maybe remove sentence from section 6.2.1 - it is defined in the next section, why repeating?

Section 3.1 - Clock Source and Clock Target are only used in figures. Sometimes the Part 82 Term is used and sometimes the .1AS term is used. Propose the Part 82 Terms be removed and only the .1AS terms be used.

Section 6.2.1 - is an informative overview introducing the content and referencing the normative clause (6.2.2).

Regarding repeated IEEE 802.1Q terms: Accepted, the definitions in this document will be removed and the .1Q terms will be used.

Regarding 6.2.1 introductory statement about NETCONF: Not accepted: The first mention is made in an informative introduction of the topic and the second is in a normative clause.

Regarding repeated IEEE 802.1Q terms:

The following text was added to the overview clause of IEEE Std 802.1AS-2020 (Clause 6.4.2.1) relating the terms ClockSource and ClockTarget to the application clocks: "The usage of an application clock as ClockSource or ClockTarget depends on the IEEE 802.1AS defined role for synchronization. Each instance of ClockSource or ClockTarget is bound to one PTP instance. "

The definition of OPC UA terms for ClockSource and ClockTarget are left in the document because .1Q does not formally define them as terms. They are only described in the text of the standard.
