Summary0007696: The Time Synchronization profile needs more definition
Description

The Time Synchronization facet lists 6 possible mechanisms for tracking time. At least one must be used to meet the requirements of the facet. Some of the listed options require more definition to be useful in a system. Specifically for FLC we have discussed the use of 1588 or 802.1AS. Both require the specification of a profile before any two devices can have the same notion of time. The Time Sync - IEEE 1588 (PTP) and Time Sync - IEEE 802.1AS conformance units should be updated.

1) Update profile mandatory conformance unit to require applications to include documentation for the supported time synch and which profiles for the each time synch protocol is supported.
