It is an interesting question if an application sets up three connection and it want to maintain a lock as long as any of the three are active, currently we do not have a manner of doing this. We do not have a manner of grouping connectionendpoint (the lock target would have to be something else – I think we could work on this for the next release – since it is as much to do with when is a ConnectionEndpoint cleaned up if an application is related to multiple connections – i.e. we might need more elaborate logic for cleanup and for locking both (cleanup if any one of the three goes away or stay lock until all go away
Maybe it is as simple as allowing a lock to be assigned to an application status (which means it is locked as long as the status is good – and how the status is determined in decided by application logic – the same could be said for connection (but then the application just has to close them)
