Summary0000942: Renaming "Low End Embedded Device Server" Profile
Description

A marketing nightmare exists for any vendors wishing to promote OPC UA Servers based on the "'LOW END' Embedded Device Server" profile.

LOW END is a very bad choice of name for any profile. I think people understand the intent behind the naming convention used, but from a marketing standpoint the negative connotations perceived in a "low end" anything will make life difficult for vendors to overcome.

The suggestion is to rename the 'LOW END' portion of the profile name to 'MICRO', thus renaming the profile to:

MICRO EMBEDDED DEVICE SERVER

Ultimately, the desire is to have UA Server embedded in a chip. Having a MICRO named profile will be very attractive, can be very positively marketed, and a avoids the negative perceptions related to something "low end". Here is the perceived structure of Profiles:

Standard UA Server
+-- Embedded UA Server
+--- MICRO EMBEDDED DEVICE SERVER

Agreed to the proposed name change. Karl updated the name in the database -- needs to be updated in the doc.
